The Pleasure of Rentals.

Oh, also: Subleasing an apartment in Mt. Pleasant is a pain in the ass. The apartment scene operates like no where else — I swear. It should be simple like this:

• I find a person to take over my lease.
• We sign some sort of document with the landlord.
He pays the landlord, or in this case, I pay the landlord what’s owed on the lease, and he pays me because I’m giving him a deal for helping me out.
• Conflict resolved.

• I find a person to take over my lease.
• We make an appointment to sign some sort of document with the landlord.
• There are a lot of documents to sign: Several for me, several for him, even some for his parents, and one for my roommates even though I’ve already paid off the lease.
• Oh! Hidden fees!
• Split them down the middle?
• Okay.
• Pain in the ass has become even more annoying.
• Conflict resolved.
