The Gong Show taping made the Soup look like a well-oiled, professional machine. They made us wait for at least an hour in this room with no seats, just a hard floor, and then put us in tightly packed seats and made us listen to a warm up comic for another hour. We were there a total of maybe 5 hours. It was awful. The warm up comic was Brody Stevens. I was poking fun back and forth with him, and he had me come up on stage with him and talk. I held my own pretty well, had the audience cheering for me. It was nice. Dave Attell was pretty funny as usual, but all in all it was not worth wasting a whole day there. No way.
Totally, man. I was hoping we’d be out by 4:30 at the latest, since that’s when the next taping started, but we were inside studio property from about 2:00 to just after 7:00. Ugh.
